Choice & Voice

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED

A fabulous evening of drama and song at Llanymynech Village Hall.

'Choice' is a one-act play written by our very own Margaret Kynaston. Dorothy and Eileen are two ordinary old biddies - or 'mature elder stateswomen', as Dorothy prefers to be called. They are surprised and perturbed when Artan, a sinister young stranger, enters their lives. Someone's in trouble...

'Out Of The Land' is an extraordinary interweaving of words and song, written by Polly Bolton and Gill McEvoy. Discover the histories of three women born in Shropshire - a local midwife, a deported convict, and a wronged mother. The centuries melt away as we hear their stories and songs.

Friday March 27th and Saturday March 28th, 7.30pm.
Tickets available from Rowanthorn, the Village Shop, or visit our 'Buy Tickets' page.

LADS AGM

THE AGM HAS BEEN POSTPONED

All LADS members - and anyone who would like to join - are invited to our AGM & Social Evening.
Come along and have your say; put yourself forward for a role on the committee; or just have a listen and then enjoy the cheese, wine and good company afterwards.

Join us at Llanymynech Village Hall on Thursday 19th March at 7.30pm.

Reminder - if you need to pay your annual membership, or have yet to complete your GDPR forms, you can do both on the night. If you would rather pay or complete online, just email Marg for details.

You could be a golf ball diver...

...or alternatively, you could consider joining the LADS committee.

No qualifications needed - just enthusiasm and willingness to work as part of a team.

Meetings are held roughly once a month and are informal affairs including refreshments and good humour.

Nominate yourself by contacting Marg our secretary by 10th March please. If you would like to nominate someone else, make sure you have their permission first.

One Act Play Competition

The LADS are thrilled to be taking part once again in the MCDA One-Act Play Festival.

Catch lots of local talent at this fantastic festival which takes place at Berriew Community Centre on 1st - 4th April. Each evening you will have a chance to watch a variety of one-act plays, starting at 7pm - with the final adjudication and awards taking place on the last night.

The LADS entry is 'Choice', written by our very own Margaret Kynaston. Wish us luck!

Guess what's back?

It's nearly time for our ever-popular FREE New Year workshop.

Fancy a go at theatre skills? Want to make new friends? Yearning for something a little bit different to cheer up a grey January day? Then come along to Pant Memorial Hall on Sunday 12th January. The fun starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm. All you need is something for lunch and some comfortable clothes.

We'll be enjoying some silly warm-up games, learning some new acting skills from Jon Buckeridge of Parable Arts, and exploring other roles important to a production, such as stage management and publicity. There will be no pressure - just a lot of fun and a warm welcome. (Children are welcome but must bring a tame adult with them)
