Twelfth Night

William Shakespeare's famous comedy of life, love and mistaken identity

The LADS - in collaboration with RSC Open Stages - will be bringing this wonderful play to vibrant life with a production set in the Swinging Sixties. Our aim is to make Shakespeare accessible and fun for all. Following the runaway success of 'The Taming of the Shrew' in 2015, we are once again working with the RSC to bring the very best out of our amazing team of actors. Our greatest reward is to find people who have never seen Shakespeare before, and discover that we've converted them!

So if you've never seen (or maybe never enjoyed) a Shakespeare play before, why not let the LADS persuade you? Performances will be the first three weekends of September, in Oswestry, Llanymynech and Ellesmere.

To reserve your seat, go to our 'Buy tickets' page and click on the link, which will take you to our secure online site (Ticketsource).

The Crucible

Arthur Miller's disturbing tale of fear, malice and injustice comes to Llanymynech.

“We burn a hot fire here; it melts down all concealment.”

Llanymynech Amateur Dramatic Society presents a new interpretation of Arthur Miller's famous stage play, 'The Crucible', written in 1953. Miller's script was based on historical accounts of the seventeenth-century Salem witch trials, which he used to create an allegory about the McCarthy 'witch-hunts' of the 1950s. It is a dark and powerful play about fear, belief and accusation, which challenges actors and audience alike.

Director Dickon Faux-Nightingale has created a new ensemble for this play, drawing together existing members, several newcomers and visiting actors from other companies. LADS is particularly proud to introduce some of its youngest new members drawn from Llanymynech's successful youth theatre group, Roleplay. The team has been exploring modern workshop techniques in rehearsal, to create a spirited and dramatic take on this modern classic.

"A powerful, disturbing play, performed by an inspirational local theatre group - don't miss it!"

Evening performances will be staged at Llanymynech Village Hall on 15th and 16th April at 7.45pm, and there will be a matinee at 2.30pm on Sunday 17th April. Tickets are now on sale via the 'Buy tickets' page of this website, or by calling Marg Kynaston on 01691 830558, as well as through our usual outlets.

Burning Questions & Vegetable Stew

Two one-act plays, written by one of our own playwrights, Margaret Kynaston.

In Burning Questions, we discover that an elderly widow is being abused in her own home. But which of the motley collection of characters in Ida's life is the culprit?

The local produce show becomes a hot-bed of rivalry, gossip and unravelling scandal in 'Vegetable Stew'.

June 9th, 10th and 11th at Llanymynech Village Hall - tickets available soon.
